Interviewer instructions
This section of the questionnaire tries to ascertain the health of the population by
examining the population's degree of affliction by both serious illnesses and illnesses
of a much milder nature. This section also examines the prevalence of chronic
diseases which can eventually lead to death. This section examines the quality,
satisfaction with and cost of health services provided.
Ques. 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6
19
These questions try to establish the severity of illness/injury which are generally not
life threatening by trying to determine the extent to which a segment of the
population may be incapacitated due to the effect or lack thereof of these illnesses. If
the respondent indicates that they were confined to a bed as a result of one of the
conditions mentioned you must find out what that sickness was and fully describe it
at Ques 2.2. Similar to Ques 2.1, Ques 2.3 inquires about illnesses which did not
require the respondent's confinement to bed for any period during the last 4 weeks.
This question requires only that the respondent "suffer" from the illness to be
classified with option 1 "Yes". Please note that in either case it is appropriate to
record crime or accident related injuries since these have increased in prominence
over the past five years and are considered legitimate answers to these questions.
Q2.5. Please note that NIC is not included in this category
